If you fear that your life is too good, remember, you will die one day.
This thought passed through my awareness while resisting the urge to deny the steady state of contentment within myself. Who was I to think that life would let me maintain this level of “goodness.” It was simply too good to be true, or so I’ve been taught.
But, the idea of death urges me to live– Not in attachment to the good, but in acceptance of its presence. And in that regard, the certainty of death can become a tool for deeper living. Allowing us to accept what is both good, and too good.
