Didn’t know

How would the person I am today handle the situations of my life decades ago? I imagine, more grounded and with relative ease. It’s difficult for me to see it any other way, considering that I would expect to be more prepared for a journey that I’ve already taken.

If I look to the past, I could feel guilt for the wisdom and strength that seemed to abandon me when I needed it the most. Because today, the best solution for past situations, seem so obvious.

We often say, “If I only knew then what I know now.”

But, what if we could honor the strength required to move inside the unknown, realizing that– “I know what I know now, because of the one that didn’t know then.”
