Contradictions

The more contradictions I can hold, the more whole I feel as a person and the more honest I can live in relationship to the world around me.

As I push my boundaries of growth, my belief that things are either this or that has expanded to a capacity that can hold this and that. The “and” is the contradiction, but it is also the vehicle that leads to harmony.

For example, wanting more for yourself and not thinking you’re worthy is a contradiction. And denying one aspect of that equation will cancel out the others existence. If not feeling worthy actually exist, a person must be able to hold that reality in order to realize their worthiness.

Contradictions can also expand our views of opposing sides. For example, I would not know good without evil. And when I realize that they need each other, that evil has allowed good to exist more fully in my awareness, then even how I choose to define good and evil shifts.

My view on contradictions are just an idea. Another person will likely have a completely different view. And still, the sun will rise and set tomorrow as a witness that the world can hold the complexities of who we are. To deny that same ability within ourselves, prevents us from being a witness, and is a contradiction to the depths of our own existence.
